Georgian wine was showcased in Tokyo through a series of seminars and a tasting event organised by RedBridge, the National Wine Agency’s marketing contractor, with financial support from the agency.
One of the seminars, titled Development of Georgian Wine, Latest Achievements in Viticulture and Winemaking in Georgia, was led by Japanese Master of Wine Kenichi Ohashi, founder of RedBridge.
The second seminar, Pairing Georgian Wine with Food Culture and Logic, was conducted by Japanese sommelier Maika Yamamoto. Participants were also offered a tasting of a wide range of Georgian wines currently available on the Japanese market.
Georgia’s Ambassador to Japan, Teimuraz Lezhava, attended the event.
The presentation attracted around 300 invited guests, including wine enthusiasts, industry professionals, representatives of the trade and HORECA sectors, and members of the media.
Japan is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine, where demand for premium-quality products and authentic, distinctive flavours continues to grow. Promotional activities in the Japanese market help raise awareness of Georgian wine, expand its export potential and strengthen its competitiveness in international markets.
