Georgia plays a very important role in the region, particularly in strengthening peace in the South Caucasus, and the efforts of the country’s diplomatic corps must continue in this direction, said on Monday Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at the Ambassadors’ Conference.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Georgian diplomats serve as the voice of Georgia on the international stage.
“One of our main objectives is to strengthen our country’s connectivity and transit functions. Much has been accomplished in this area this year, and much more remains to be done in the coming year and the years ahead”, the PM said.
He addressed the diplomats directly, highlighting their role in representing Georgia’s national interests abroad.
"Let me remind you that you, our diplomats, are Georgia’s voice internationally - a voice that must be firm, well-argued, and always focused on our national interests. This is how our diplomats’ voices were heard on the international stage this year, and we are confident that our diplomatic corps will continue its work with the same determination next year. I want to thank each of you. I also extend my gratitude to our Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili for her significant contributions, to the Deputy Ministers, to every staff member of the Ministry, and to our ambassadors and diplomatic mission personnel. Once again, I want to stress that each of you plays a unique role in protecting our national interests. I wish you success, a happy 2026, and many achievements in the year ahead”, he concluded.
