At the Ambassadors’ Conference 2025, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Monday emphasised that Georgia’s guiding principle remains the promotion of regional and global peace through open dialogue based on equality, mutual respect, and consideration of national interests.
“Georgia will never compromise its sovereignty or its choice to remain an independent, democratic, and peaceful nation”, the President said.
He highlighted that the country’s key foreign policy priorities include the deoccupation of Georgia’s two historical regions and the continued non-recognition policy of the Russian-occupied regions.
President Kavlashvili stressed Georgia’s unwavering commitment to resolving conflicts peacefully, noting that there is no alternative to a diplomatic approach.
“Today, we firmly defend our national interests. Our message is clear: Georgia will never give up its sovereignty or its choice to be an independent, democratic, and peaceful state. This is both our historical responsibility and the foundation of our nation’s existence”, he continued.
The President also underscored the crucial role of Georgian diplomats in representing the country internationally and safeguarding its identity, long-standing traditions, and values.
“In this process, especially given the challenges and opportunities we face, your role is particularly important. It is up to you, Georgian diplomats, to ensure that our country’s identity, centuries-old traditions, and values - sources of our pride and the foundation of our state - are accurately represented on the international stage. Your diplomatic work carries a far greater and honourable mission: responsibility toward our country’s history, present, and future. Remember, you represent a nation and a people who never surrender! Be confident, principled, and above all, united. Only in this way can the voice of Georgian diplomats be clearly heard internationally - a voice that steadfastly and loyally defends the homeland and the interests of our people worldwide”, the President concluded.
