The internationally authoritative publication Forbes on Thursday had named Tbilisi among the world’s top 10 trending tourist destinations for 2026, ranking second on the list.
The ranking, published as part of Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards, is based on millions of travelers’ ratings and reviews, making it one of the most reliable and objective international tourism indicators.
The publication highlighted the capital’s historic and modern architecture, cultural institutions, and newly established art spaces, which help preserve the city’s contemporary yet authentic character.
The article mentioned Rustaveli Avenue, the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Art, and other landmarks.
“2026 is the period when Tbilisi finally secures its place on the global tourism map. The capital of Georgia is a city full of opportunities, which is clearly reflected in newly opened spaces shaping its cultural and tourism landscape”, the article stated.
Alongside Tbilisi, the Forbes and Tripadvisor list of trending destinations for 2026 includes Madeira (Portugal), Chicago (USA), Quy Nhon (Vietnam), Puerto Escondido (Mexico), Milan (Italy), Glasgow (Scotland), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Recife (Brazil), and San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina).
