As part of the Georgian National Tourism Administration’s marketing campaign, British Airways’ digital magazine, High Life, has published an article highlighting Georgia as a top gastro-tourism destination.
Titled “Georgian cuisine in six swoon-worthy dishes”, the article, authored by Rebecca Naylor, explores the rich culinary heritage of Georgia and explains why travelers should visit the country.
“Snow-capped peaks, castles and towers, Black Sea coastlines - there are countless reasons to visit Georgia. Unforgettable dishes inspired by both the East and the West, in other words, everything you dream of for your next trip”, writes Rebecca Naylor.
The High Life article provides detailed descriptions of six iconic Georgian dishes, including: khachapuri - Georgia’s famous cheese-filled bread, khinkali - juicy dumplings with a flavorful broth inside, walnut-filled, onion-stuffed, and spiced beans, pkhali - a colorful vegetable and walnut pâté, kharcho - a rich and aromatic beef soup, and churchkhela - a traditional Georgian sweet made from nuts and grape juice.
In addition to celebrating Georgia’s culinary scene, the article comes at a time when British Airways is expanding its operations in the country.
Starting from March 30, the UK’s flagship airline will launch direct regular flights between London and Tbilisi, operating four times a week.
This feature in High Life magazine is expected to further boost interest in Georgia as a must-visit destination for food lovers and travelers alike.
