In an interview with Imedi TV, Nino Tsilosani, the Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Sunday commented on recent remarks by Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, saying that while a country as large and powerful as the United States can openly discuss problems within the EU, Georgia apparently does not have the right to raise similar issues in the European Union context.
“This is exactly the heart of the problem Brussels faces - they cannot accept criticism, even when it is objective”, Tsilosani said.
She noted that all frivolous accusations directed at Georgia serve to strengthen foreign agent networks.
“We will probably continue to experience this turbulence until the war in Ukraine ends. During this period, it is logical to expect the same accusations and the same unserious criticism we have heard before. All these statements are aimed at supporting their local agents, who are represented in politics by the [opposition] United National Movement party and its affiliated parties, as well as in various NGOs that were funded and significantly strengthened over the years”, the Parliament official concluded.
