Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday announced that Georgia had made significant progress in combating corruption and money laundering, ranking among the top 40 globally.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze highlighted Georgia’s achievements in strengthening anti-corruption measures across all sectors.
“We have strengthened the fight against corruption in all directions, including money laundering, and this is already reflected in a specific index. Georgia is among the top 40 countries in this regard, and among EU and NATO member and candidate states, we are in the top 20, ahead of five countries from the G7. This speaks volumes”, he said.
The Prime Minister further emphasised continued efforts to improve the country’s standing in international indices.
“Maximum efforts will continue to ensure that Georgia advances even further in the parameters that define the fight against corruption and the fight against money laundering”, Kobakhidze concluded.
