Rati Ionatamishvili, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Human Rights and Civic Integration Committee, on Tuesday said that the US President has exposed the BBC at the international level, accusing it of being not only a broadcaster of “fake news”, but also an instrument of hidden forces used to discredit political opponents and, allegedly, to serve intelligence agencies.
Ionatamishvili made the remarks while commenting on reports claiming that the US president has filed a lawsuit against the BBC.
“Consequently, none of us is surprised by the immoral lie that the BBC dared to tell regarding Georgia, and it seems that here, too, it was used as an instrument against the truth”, the Parliament official said.
According to Fox News, Donald Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC, related to the editing of his remarks in a documentary film about the events of January 6.
