Khatia Tsilosani, the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the Council of Europe, on Tuesday said Georgia’s high-level participation in a diplomatic conference in The Hague emphasised the country's consistent support for the restoration of justice for Ukraine.
“[Georgian Foreign Minister] Maka Botchorishvili will sign the Convention. This will be one of the first and most important steps taken by the international community toward restoring justice for Ukraine. Georgia’s high-level participation in this conference clearly demonstrates that our country consistently supports the restoration of justice for Ukraine. As one of the first countries to sign the Convention, we will be fully engaged in these processes to ensure that international norms are upheld and the principles of international law that have been violated are restored in a transparent and fair manner”, Tsilosani said.
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili is in The Hague, where a high-level diplomatic conference hosted by the Council of Europe is set to begin in the coming hours.
The Minister was invited to attend the conference by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
The Commission will review compensation claims for damages caused by Russia’s internationally recognised unlawful actions committed in Ukraine or against Ukraine from February 24, 2022.
Georgia is among the first 25 countries to support the Council of Europe’s initiative.
