Vladimir Bozhadze, the Chair of the parliamentary political group European Socialists, on Wednesday said that it was not likely the European bureaucracy would revise its policy after the United States President Donald Trump’s statement, although the citizens of Georgia were once again convinced that the threat of external interference existed.
“You know what kind of reaction Trump’s statement caused from European leaders - they are saying as if America is interfering in their internal affairs. Let us recall the statement made by the American Ambassador regarding France, and the reaction of the President of France. And somehow they are surprised that a small state like ours has a reaction to the open interference we see from some ambassadors and various partners”, he said.
“I do not think that the European bureaucracy will reconsider its policy after Trump’s statement, although the citizens of Georgia were once again convinced that the threat of external interference exists. Imagine what kind of pressure our homeland may be under when the European bureaucracy so openly, unfairly, and blatantly interferes in the country’s internal affairs”, the MP concluded.
