Irakli Zarkua, the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora and Caucasus Issues, on Monday said the new doctrine presented by the United States was in fact largely due to the incorrect, immature and non-strategic policy of the so-called bureaucrats of the European Union, as well as the incomprehensible approaches to NATO expansion.
In his remarks, Zarkua noted that the US National Security Strategy was also related to America's security, adding this was how responsible governments behave, not like individual European leaders.
“For years, we have been saying that we are ready for NATO standards. Among them, more than nine thousand of our soldiers participated in NATO missions, in various hot spots, where they had one of the highest ratings, but for years, it’s only the promise - we will accept you, we will not accept you. This doctrine put an end to NATO expansion altogether. This is not good news for us at all. We also included membership in the Euro-Atlantic space in the Constitution so that we would have an umbrella in the sector of foreign security. This irresponsible attitude of the bureaucrats and high-ranking officials of the European Union and NATO, which was reflected in the tragedy in Ukraine, put an end to it and gave the final doctrine this appearance”, Zarkua said.
“Today, the European Union does not have a leader who takes care of one’s own country, with a few exceptions. France has a president who is in the business of proving whether his wife is a woman or a man. France is a leading, European, great state that determined the policy of the European Union together with Germany, today its [President's] rating is at the lowest level. Look at the German Chancellor, no one respects him because he is not the one who carries out the interests of his own country. This doctrine is also related to the security of America, among others. [Donald Trump] takes care of his country and does the right thing. This is how responsible governments behave, and not like individual European leaders, who are the weakest, most authoritarian and unrated leaders. Naturally, this was reflected in the doctrine represented by the United States”, he concluded.
