Levan Makhashvili, the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration, on Monday said that wherever the Georgian Government had the opportunity and resources, every international platform was used to support Ukraine and stand by the Ukrainian people.
Makhashvili’s comments came after over 40 OSCE member states, including Georgia, condemned Russia’s targeted attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“Wherever the opportunity and resources existed, every international platform was used - including the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the UN, and others - to support Ukraine and stand by its people in the face of the challenges it faces today”, he said.
“We joined specific initiatives within the OSCE, and a few days ago, within the framework of the UN General Assembly, we joined another important document calling for the return of abducted Ukrainian children, and this will continue. On the backdrop of false accusations claiming that the Government is supposedly pursuing a pro-Russian policy, decisions of this kind are the best proof that such claims are entirely false”, Makhashvili concluded.
