Lasha Darsalia, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, on Friday said that Georgia’s principal security concern - the occupation of its territories by Russia - remained the focus of the country's engagement at the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council meeting.
In his remarks, Darsalia emphasised that Georgia continued to prioritise international discussions on Russia’s ongoing occupation and the broader Russia-Georgia conflict.
“[The OSCE] is an organisation of special importance for Georgia. It is a platform where security issues are discussed first and foremost. As you know, Georgia’s main security challenge is the occupation of Georgian territories and the Russia-Georgia conflict. Accordingly, these were the key issues put forward by the Georgian side”, he said.
He underlined that these issues shaped both the formal and bilateral meetings held by the Georgian delegation.
“In addition to the meetings planned within the ministerial, bilateral meetings were held with a number of partner countries, where the main topic was security issues - specifically, matters concerning Georgia’s occupation”, Darsalia concluded.
