Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said his Government remains committed to preparing the country for European Union integration, emphasising that Georgia expects to be ready by 2030.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that while Georgia would fulfill its obligations under the Association Agreement and the DCFTA, further progress would depend on a fair approach from the EU.
“Our responsibility is to be ready for EU integration. As for the EU’s approach - if the shameful attitude we have seen from European bureaucracy so far continues, then of course unfairness may continue there as well. We are saying that we will be ready by 2030. There are obligations to fulfill under the Association Agreement and the DCFTA, and the rest depends on fairness”, the PM said.
The head of Government added that he hopes the current approach within EU institutions will change.
