A process is underway that seeks to discredit Georgia’s Government and encourage revolutionary developments in the country, said on Monday Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament.
Volski was commenting on the announcement that the ruling Georgian Dream party was initiating legal proceedings in international courts against the BBC.
“It is a fact that there is an ongoing campaign aimed at discrediting Georgia’s authorities and promoting revolutionary processes. This is not only about the BBC - an entire propaganda network is operating to destabilise the situation in Georgia. The circulated information is absurd. Such a matter would inevitably have surfaced; it cannot remain hidden. The claim that a substance used back in the 1930s was involved would not go unnoticed anywhere in the world”, Volski said.
