A few days after the BBC’s director and head of news were forced to resign over a widely circulated false report, a new “insanity” has been fabricated - an allegation that Georgia used wartime chemical weapons against protesters, said on Monday Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body.
In a social media message, Kirtskhalia noted that the claim relied on figures such as Chakhunashvili, Khasaia, Gigauri, and Shaishmelashvili - assertions that radical “agents” were now spreading with full seriousness across social networks.
“Just days ago, the BBC’s director and head of news were compelled to resign over a false report… now they have launched a new absurdity - that Georgia supposedly used wartime chemical weapons against protesters. And do you know whom and what they’re relying on? Chakhunashvili, Khasaia, Gigauri, Shaishmelashvili, and so on”, he said.
“Our radical agents are sharing this with complete seriousness on social media. It is clear what has been done to these people and where they have been led. This is no longer brainwashing - it is a grave insult to society and clearly shows the scale and absurdity of the actions of these agents and their handlers”, the official concluded.
