Levan Machavariani, the First Deputy Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Saturday claimed that the opposition withheld a manifesto at yesterday’s rally because the text - allegedly coordinated with Brussels - instructed an attack on US President Donald Trump and mirrored previous directives from European officials.
In his remarks, Machavariani argued that the opposition once again faced embarrassment after the document appeared in the media prior to the rally.
“The manifesto they were planning to read was once again leaked, and therefore they tried to avoid the same embarrassment they experienced two weeks ago. However, the text clearly reflects what Euro-bureaucrats directly instructed - in this case, the attack must be launched against Mr. Donald Trump”, he said.
The official further added that the radical opposition had a long history of verbally insulting Trump and labelling him a Russian agent.
“We remember how for years the representatives of the radical opposition insulted Mr. Trump with obscene language, how they called him a Russian agent. And in this case as well, the manifesto provided for exactly the same narrative - as if the phrase deep state is something voiced by Mr. Trump and Georgian Dream and written in Moscow”, Machavariani concluded.
After the media released information about the opposition’s manifesto allegedly coordinated with Brussels, the radicals did not read the manifesto at the rally.
