Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said he did not expect that Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, would be compensated after winning a dispute with Credit Suisse.
In his remarks, Kaladze noted that just as a political decision was made in previous cases, the same would likely happen this time as well.
“Bidzina Ivanishvili won [dispute] in all instances, however, it is not being executed. We know that there has been informal governance in the world for a long time, and it is they who are blackmailing Ivanishvili and his family on political grounds to this day. What we are seeing is the biggest robbery of the 21st century. Let's wait for the development of events, but I have no hope that the sentence will be executed. The basis for saying this is the attitude of the informal governance towards the country and Bidzina Ivanishvili. The American side also imposed sanctions on Mr. Bidzina in such a way that there was no explanation or concreteness”, Kaladze said.
“They have been talking for so long about opening a second front in the country, joining the sanctions, etc. We see only political decisions because they could not use our country to pursue their own interests”, he concluded.
