Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said there were no grounds to intimidate the Georgian public with the potential suspension of visa-free travel with the EU.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that Brussels was using all mechanisms and levers to pressure the Georgian society.
“Changes to visa-free travel rules with respect to Georgia are being discussed and constantly raised, even though there is no basis to threaten the public with a suspension of visa-free travel. It has become clear to us that Brussels is using every mechanism and leverage to pressure the Georgian society or apply certain punitive instruments against it”, she said.
“I hope that Brussels will not make any decision aimed at punishing Georgian society or the Georgian people”, Botchorishvili concluded.
