Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said that the Georgian Government “remains in a mode of strategic patience” in its relations with the United States and reiterated that Tbilisi seeks to “restore the strategic partnership from a clean slate and with a specific roadmap”.
In his interview with the Adjara Public Broadcaster, Kobakhidze noted that his Government was ready to discuss any issue connected to this matter.
“Thus far, we see passivity. We will see which side prevails - the informal governance that has enjoyed full, total influence over the United States over the past four years, just as it continues to wield influence over the European Union, or whether the informal actors will again have the upper hand regarding Georgia. In that case, nothing may change”, he said.
“If the new administration prevails in this confrontation, then we will see something new. We are patiently waiting and hope that, ultimately, the subjective interests of the American people will prevail over informal governance”, Kobakhidze concluded.
