Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said that Peter Fischer, Germany’s Ambassador to Georgia, was “blatantly” violating specific requirements of the Vienna Convention and was directly contradicting every diplomatic standard.
In his interview with Adjara TV, Kobakhidze noted that Fischer’s actions had become so unserious that the Georgian Government did not even know whether it was better to assign any serious significance to such acts or not.
“Diplomatic steps could be taken here as well, using a specific procedure. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make a decision on this, and we may also hold consultations. It’s just that the actions of this particular Ambassador have become so unserious that we really do not know whether it is appropriate to assign serious weight to such acts or not”, the PM said.
“You can see that every time he blatantly violates specific requirements of the Vienna Convention and directly contradicts every diplomatic standard. All of this is absolutely unserious. Therefore, our attitude toward this person and his actions is very mild”, the PM concluded.
