In an exclusive interview with Euronews, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that avoiding becoming a second front line amid the war in Ukraine was not an easy task, given the significant interest and demand in this regard.
“From the early 1990s, Georgia has faced many challenges, which is why our Government has fought so hard to prevent another war in the country”, Kobakhidze said.
“It was not easy for us to avoid turning into a second front line, as there was great interest and demand in this direction. We did everything possible to prevent war in Georgia”, the Prime Minister emphasised.
Regarding a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, Kobakhidze stated that there is no alternative to peace.
“From the very beginning - since February 2022 - we have been saying that peace has no alternative, that people are dying, and of course, the international community must be fully focused on ensuring that a peace agreement is reached. This is essential for improving the situation in the region and globally”, the Georgian PM concluded.
