The Constitutional Court of Georgia is set to begin hearing a case this week seeking to ban five opposition parties, following a lawsuit filed by four lawmakers from the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Georgian Dream said the country must be protected from parties whose objectives were to incite unrest, engage in destructive activities, destabilise the country and undermine the constitutional order.
