Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said nowadays no one was allowed to interfere in the country's internal affairs, emphasising that all future decisions would be made independently by the Georgian Government in alignment with the national interests of the country.
Kobakhidze acknowledged the difficult processes and facts that had occurred in recent years, particularly pointing out that certain ambassadors had attempted, and some continue to attempt, to interfere in Georgia's domestic affairs.
He stressed that such actions were in violation of specific conventions.
The Prime Minister further explained that these attempts of interference were the result of the actions of the deep state.
“There are specific ambassadors who are following the instructions of the deep state. This must come to an end once and for all in our country. Thankfully, unlike the situation several years ago, no one today has the ability to blatantly interfere in our internal affairs”, Kobakhidze said.
“Laws are drafted in the Georgian Parliament and enforced by the Georgian Government. This is how a sovereign state must function. We firmly declare to the Georgian people that all future decisions will be made independently, by the Georgian Government, and exclusively in the interest of Georgia’s national priorities”, the PM concluded.
