Prospects for economic cooperation with the new US administration were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili and Robin Dunnigan, the United States Ambassador to the country.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from both sides, focused on strengthening economic ties, fostering innovation and technology partnerships, and enhancing trade and investment opportunities between Georgia and the United States.
Davitashvili highlighted Georgia’s economic priorities and potential areas for collaboration with the United States.
The parties explored cooperation in innovation and technology, trade, transport, logistics, the Middle Corridor, and energy investment.
The establishment of the first Georgian technology hub in San Francisco was discussed, with the United States Embassy expressing strong support for the initiative.
“As noted in the discussion, this year, the first Georgian technology hub outside the country is set to be established in San Francisco. The hub aims to support the internationalisation of Georgian start-ups and facilitate their access to global markets. It will also seek to attract global technology companies, foreign venture capital funds, and angel investor networks to Georgia’s innovation ecosystem”, the Ministry said.
Trade missions between Georgia and the United States were also on the agenda, with plans for Georgian businesses to visit the United States and vice versa in the coming months.
