In recent years, the world has faced numerous economic challenges - however, Georgia has successfully navigated these difficulties and continues to maintain strong macroeconomic stability, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on Thursday in his address at the opening of the Tbilisi Finance Summit.
In his address, Kobakhidze noted that Georgia’s economy has demonstrated robust and consistent growth over the past several years.
“According to preliminary data, economic growth in the first eight months of 2025 reaches 7.9 percent. High economic growth is largely due to structural changes and the development of relatively high-productivity sectors, including information technologies and financial services”, the PM said.
Kobakhidze further highlighted the maintenance of price stability along with economic growth in the country.
“Inflation has decreased since the beginning of 2023 and has remained below the target level for two years. Inflation in 2024 averaged 1.1 percent, and this is at a time when high inflation was a significant problem in many countries around the world. Price stability is maintained in our country this year as well”, he continued.
The Government head further emphasised dynamic development of the financial sector in Georgia, which was becoming increasingly attractive to investors.
“The shares of leading Georgian banks have been traded on the London Stock Exchange for years. Georgian banks have also expanded their activities outside the country and are conducting banking operations in various countries in the region. We see high interest from both regional and international investors in investing capital in our financial sector”, he concluded.
