Natia Turnava, the Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, on Friday participated in the 27th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), held in Yerevan.
The event brought together senior officials from BSTDB member states, with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan extending a formal welcome.
The session featured remarks from BSTDB President Serhat Köksal, as well as other representatives of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)-affiliated institutions.
Addressing the forum, Turnava highlighted the significant geopolitical challenges the region has faced in recent years and their impact on regional development banks like BSTDB.
“It is important to acknowledge with respect the efforts of the bank and its responsible shareholders”, she said.
“I believe that the shareholders will continue to manage this process with the same responsibility, caution, and dedication that has characterised our joint efforts so far”, Turnava noted.
Alongside the governors’ meeting, a business forum was held focusing on supporting the sustainability of small economies in the Black Sea region.
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank is an international financial institution with founding members including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, and Russia.
The Bank supports regional cooperation and development by financing both public and private sector projects.
