Cooperation between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank was discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and Masato Kanda, the President of the Asian Development Bank.
Khutsishvili congratulated Kanda on his appointment as ADB President in February and wished him success in his work, the Ministry of Finance said.
The discussions covered Georgia’s progress in recent years, the importance of high economic growth and stable macroeconomic indicators, as well as ADB-supported projects across various sectors of the economy, which had contributed to the country’s economic development.
Kanda emphasised Georgia’s important role in regional and multilateral cooperation and expressed hope that the successful history of collaboration between Georgia and the Bank would continue in the future.
The Asian Development Bank is a key international financial institution partner for Georgia.
Since Georgia joined the Bank in 2007, ADB’s investments have exceeded USD 5 billion.
This year, the 58th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank is being hosted in Milan.
