Tim Devolder, the Director of Jan De Nul's Georgia branch - a global company that specialises in large-scale dredging, marine, and civil engineering projects - on Monday said the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project was standing out as a visionary development with the potential to reshape regional dynamics.
In his remarks, Volder emphasised that the project was holding special significance for Jan De Nul and would enhance the efficiency of the Middle Corridor - a key trade route connecting Asia and Europe.
“This is a visionary, forward-looking project that will change the situation in the region. With Anaklia, the Middle Corridor for transporting goods from Asia to Europe will become more efficient. That’s why Jan De Nul is exactly where it needs to be”, Devolder said.
“We are a company that changes situations, and we want to be part of this project. Jan De Nul is a global leader in marine infrastructure construction. We have vast experience in building breakwaters and deepening coastlines. It is a great honor for us to contribute to the development of this new port in Anaklia”, he added.
Jan De Nul, one of the world’s leading European marine construction companies, brings a strong international reputation and extensive experience to the table. The company has previously been involved in iconic global projects, including the expansion of the Panama Canal, the New Suez Canal in Egypt, the development of the Nador West Med Port in Morocco, the deepening of Hamburg Port, and the construction of Dubai’s artificial islands and coastal structures.
In Anaklia, Jan De Nul is responsible for the dredging of the port aquatory and the design and construction of the breakwater.
