Galt & Taggart, an investment banking arm of Lion Finance Group, has published its monthly economic review, raising its baseline forecast for Georgia’s economic growth from 5.0 percent to 6.8 percent.
According to the report, the country’s economy expanded by 7.7 percent in February 2025, following an 11.1 percent increase in January. The average growth rate for the first two months of the year stands at 9.4 percent.
Key sectors contributing to the growth in February, compared to the same period last year, include professional, scientific, and technical activities, information and communication, transportation and warehousing, energy, and mining and quarrying.
Galt & Taggart attributes the revised growth forecast to the unexpectedly strong economic performance observed in recent data.
Simultaneously, the firm has adjusted its inflation forecast downward. It now expects Georgia’s average annual inflation rate for 2025 to be 3.7 percent, compared to its previous estimate of 3.9 percent.
