Rachel Riley, Director of Route Development at British Airways, on Monday said Georgia was a very important market for the British Airways as the British flagship carrier launched operations in the Georgian aviation market.
In her remarks, Riley noted that a short while ago, the first aircraft, filled with passengers, landed successfully, adding “this connection allows British citizens to visit and explore Tbilisi and the rest of Georgia, while also enabling Georgians to travel to London and, through our infrastructure, continue their journeys across Europe and the US”.
“Today, the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft completed its inaugural flight to Tbilisi International Airport with 156 passengers on board. British Airways will operate direct regular flights between London and Tbilisi four times a week”, she pointed out.
“This is a fantastic day for us, as we have established a new direct connection and become the first premium carrier to offer this service between Georgia and the United Kingdom”, Riley concluded.
