Lieutenant Colonel Austin Commons, the commander of the 1-91 Cavalry Squadron of the US Army, on Saturday praised Georgia as a “very valuable and reliable partner” for the United States in terms of security.
The commander made the remarks while discussing the command-and-staff and field exercises being conducted in Georgia as part of the multinational exercise Agile Spirit 2025.
“We are bound by a great partnership and friendship. In terms of security, we have had a partnership for a long time. Several years ago, we were training together and fighting side by side in Iraq and Afghanistan”, Commons said.
He expressed enthusiasm for training alongside Georgian military personnel, adding that “thus, Georgia is a very valuable and reliable partner for the United States in terms of security”.
The Agile Spirit 2025 exercises, which include both command-staff and field components, were conducted at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi, reinforcing the strong security cooperation between the two nations.
