Georgian President honours Defence Forces on 34th anniversary, lauds dedication

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Wednesday highlighted a significant milestone for the nation as Georgia celebrates the 34th anniversary of its Defense Forces.

Kavelashvili delivered a heartfelt address, extending his warmest congratulations to all involved, particularly the dedicated men and women serving in the armed forces.

“Military service demands courage, professionalism, and patriotism. Each one of you is an example of heroism and dedication. You are the strong foundation upon which our country's freedom, sovereignty, and peaceful future stand.With the restoration of Georgia's independence, significant steps were taken in the formation and development of the Georgian army. Since its establishment, throughout its 34-year history, the Defence Forces have defended Georgia’s territorial integrity and freedom with honour in every war and battle. For this, I bow to every service member”, the Georgian President said.

He also expressed his deepest respect to the veterans - those who dedicated the best years of their lives to the defence of the country.

“We remember with great gratitude the wounded and injured fighters, who made immeasurable contributions to Georgia. Your strength, resilience, and love for the homeland are an inspiration to each of us.I bow to the memory of our heroic soldiers who gave their lives for Georgia’s freedom. Their names will forever remain in Georgia’s history as those of heroes who preserved our dignity and national identity at the cost of their own lives”, he concluded.
