Georgian Defence Minister attends Ukraine Defence Contact Group Meeting in Brussels

Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani on Friday participated in the 27th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, held in Ramstein format at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

The high-level meeting brought together defence ministers and senior officials from NATO member and partner countries.

The session was co-hosted by the United Kingdom’s Secretary of Defence John Healey and Germany’s Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius.

Participants reviewed the current situation on the ground in Ukraine and discussed the urgent need for continued military assistance and support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing aggression.

The Ramstein format was launched in April 2022 at the initiative of the United States. Since February 13, 2025, coordination of the format has been jointly led by the United Kingdom and Germany.
