The Turkish Armed Forces’ Special Operations Command on Saturday donated various types of assault rifles to the Special Operations Command of the Georgian Defence Forces.
The handover ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from both countries, the Georgian Defence Ministry said.
During the ceremony, the officials inspected the weapons and received a detailed briefing on their technical and tactical characteristics.
Following the inspection, they moved to the shooting range at the Special Operations Command base, where they tested the newly donated rifles in practice.
The transfer of the assault rifles was carried out within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Turkey in defence.
The defence agencies of Georgia and Turkey have been successfully cooperating in various directions for many years.
