Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said that his Government continues to communicate with the executive branch, President Trump’s administration, the State Department, hoping that conversations would bring results.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that these conversations should lead to the renewal of the strategic partnership.
“[US Congressman] Joe Wilson is an absolutely frivolous man. We continue to communicate with the executive branch, President Trump’s administration, the State Department, we have concrete conversations and we hope that these conversations will bring results. The result should be a renewal of the strategic partnership. We remain optimistic that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States will be renewed”, the PM said.
“Joe Wilson is a frivolous man. I would not waste my time on Joe Wilson at all. Joe Wilson is a frivolous man who calls Georgia pro-Iranian, pro-Chinese, pro-Russian, he used to call it that, and now we have become pro-Iranian, can anyone take such a man seriously? Who comes out and calls Georgia a pro-Iranian country. He is a frivolous man. A man who comes out and says that the Georgian Government is pro-Iranian, how frivolous he is, you see. How can anyone take a man who makes such frivolous statements seriously? Tomorrow he will come out and say that we are a pro-Cambodian government. It is amazing”, he concluded.
