Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan have for years served as one of the best examples of successful regional cooperation based on equality, mutual respect, and shared interests, said on Monday Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
In her remarks at a joint briefing with her Turkish and Azerbaijani counterparts in Istanbul, Botchorishvili noted that the success of the partnership among the three countries is demonstrated by numerous infrastructure, energy, and transport projects that are important not only for Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan, but for the entire region.
“Today, together with my colleagues, we discussed ongoing developments in the region and around the world, existing challenges, and the prospects for further developing and strengthening our cooperation”, she said.
“We signed a joint declaration outlining the key areas of our cooperation. Georgia enjoys strategic partnerships and multifaceted cooperation with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Our relations are based on good-neighborliness and trust”, Botchorishvili continued.
The 10th trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan is being held in Istanbul today.
As part of the ministerial meeting, the foreign ministers signed a joint statement known as the Istanbul Declaration.
