Davit Matikashvili, the Chair of the Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday said resolutions being discussed in the European Parliament and the Council of Europe carry no substantive value if their sole purpose is political retaliation.
In his remarks, Matikashvili noted that only a fair approach can contribute to improving relations between Georgia and European institutions.
“When a resolution serves solely as an instrument of political retaliation, it has no substantive significance or value”, he said.
“Relations can only be improved through a fair approach. If that does not happen, then full responsibility for the deterioration and negative state of these relations lies with those within the European Union who draft such unfair documents”, Matikashvili noted.
