Speaking at the 16th Tbilisi Regional Forum for Sustainable Development on Thursday, renowned economist and global affairs expert Professor Jeffrey Sachs addressed shifting geopolitical dynamics, with a sharp focus on European Union policy.
During his address, Sachs strongly criticised the EU’s involvement in the South Caucasus, labeling it entirely inappropriate and a “dangerous game” that contradicts the bloc’s core mission.
“I am very concerned about the EU’s intervention in the South Caucasus," Sachs stated. “I think it is completely inappropriate. This is an extremely dangerous game, which is completely out of line with the EU’s mission. We should not play geopolitical games. Our goal should be prosperity, peace, and economic development”.
