Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s legal Affairs Committee, on Thursday said that a genuine strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States can only be built on the basis of aligned interests and equal partnership.
Commenting on the restoration of strategic relations between Georgia and the United States, Gorduladze noted that the current US administration has clearly expressed its readiness to move beyond the strained and frozen relations that emerged under the previous administration.
“The current US administration has unequivocally confirmed its readiness to move the damaged and frozen relations that arose during the previous administration to a fundamentally new stage and to establish a renewed partnership”, Gorduladze said.
“It is important that there is a convergence of interests, and only on the basis of such alignment and equality can a genuine strategic partnership be formed between Georgia and the United States”, he concluded.
