Davit Matikashvili, the Chair of the Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules of the Georgian Parliament, on Tuesday criticised the recent statement made by the German Ambassador Peter Fischer, saying his activities in the country had crossed all limits.
Fischer stated that the Georgian people did not want to be Turks, Russians, Iranians or Azerbaijanis.
In his remarks, Matikashvili noted that with his negative role in the Georgian reality, Fischer was harming Georgian-German relations.
“The German Ambassador's statements and his activities in Georgia have crossed all limits. The xenophobic statements that we heard from him cannot withstand any criticism. With his negative role in the Georgian reality, he is harming Georgian-German relations, which is very unfortunate”, he said.
