Georgia’s ruling party official says Georgia deserves much better opposition, not this “network of agents”

Georgia truly deserves a much better opposition, and not this network of agents, said on Wednesday Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body.

In his interview with Imedi TV, Kirtskhalia noted that the opposition’s slogan - “Georgia deserves better” should be clearly separated from the current opposition parties.

“To be honest, I cannot even say this is an opposition. This is not an opposition. Their slogan - ‘Georgia deserves better’ - must be very clearly distinguished”, he said.

“Georgia certainly does not deserve this network of agents, the faces, and the people with the kind of past represented by those who held the rally yesterday”, the Chair continued.

Kirtskhalia stressed the importance of speaking about Georgia’s Independence Day.

“We should realistically speak about the significance of May 26 - Georgia’s Independence Day, a day of unity and historic importance. We can freely say it is our country’s birthday, and it belongs to everyone - to every citizen of Georgia and every person who loves their homeland”, he concluded.
