“This year offers fresh opportunities to advance greater security and prosperity for both our nations” - US President congratulates Georgian counterpart on Independence Day

United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday congratulated his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Kavelashvili on Georgia’s Independence Day.

“On behalf of the United States, congratulations to the people of Georgia as you celebrate your national day”, he said.

“This year offers fresh opportunities to reforge the bonds of friendship between the American and Georgian people, and to advance greater security and prosperity for both our nations”, Trump continued.

The US President further added that the United States remains steadfast in its support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders.

“We stand with the Georgian people as they pursue lasting security, self-determination, and independence”, he concluded.
