Georgian Parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Friday criticised the German ambassador Peter Fischer’s recent remarks, saying that “there is a simple way out of such an unpleasant situation - do not lie and do not support violence”.
Papuashvili responded to the ambassador’s statement who said that “it is certainly not pleasant when the president, the prime minister, the Parliament speaker or other MPs constantly tell you that you are a liar and support violence - this is not enjoyable”.
In a social media message, the speaker stressed that “crocodile tears cannot conceal the truth”.
“And yet, the way out of such an unpleasant situation is simple - do not be a liar and do not support violence. A liar is one who calls violence a “peaceful protest”, and a supporter of violence is one who poses on the backdrop of a fascist slogan. Crocodile tears cannot conceal the truth”, he concluded.
