Following meetings in China’s Shaanxi Province, Nikoloz Samkharadze, the chair of the Georgian Parliament’s foreign relations committee, on Wednesday said that discussions were held on several potential joint projects that could bring significant results for Georgia.
Samkharadze noted that if these initiatives are successfully implemented, they could offer “a very big surprise” for Georgian citizens. He did not provide specific details but emphasised that the talks covered multiple areas of cooperation.
According to him, one of the key interests for the Georgian delegation is an advanced agricultural high-tech training center, which he described as unique even within China. He said Georgia sees strong potential for developing innovative projects in the field of agricultural education and technology.
“We had discussions about several joint projects. If these projects are realized, we could offer a very big surprise to the population of Georgia”, Samkharadze said.
At the conclusion of the visit to China, the speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee and Chair of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress, Zhao Yide.
Both sides positively assessed relations between Georgia and China, which have developed into a strategic partnership. The officials underlined that bilateral cooperation is deepening across multiple sectors, reflecting growing political and economic engagement between the two countries.
The visit highlighted continued efforts to expand practical cooperation, particularly in education, agriculture, and technological development.
