Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday said that the 2028 parliamentary elections would be conducted under the country’s existing electoral legislation, which he described as fully aligned with international standards.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that the existing electoral laws fully meet international standards and therefore provide a solid and legitimate basis for conducting free and fair elections.
“The 2028 elections will be held under the current legislation, and we guarantee this to everyone. The current legislation is fully compliant with international standards, and accordingly, we will conduct the parliamentary elections of October 28, 2028 under the legislation currently in force”, Kobakhidze said.
