Maia Bitadze, the chair of the Georgian Parliament’s environment protection and natural resources committee, on Wednesday slammed a French parliamentary resolution on Georgia, arguing that its limited support in the French National Assembly demonstrated the document was widely viewed as a violation of international law and interference in domestic affairs.
“The fact that only 68 out of 577 MPs support this shameful resolution clearly indicates that both in France and within its political spectrum there is a clear understanding that such resolutions represent a gross violation of international law and a blatant attempt to interfere in a country’s internal affairs”, she said.
The official described Salome Zourabichvili’s presence at the session as another clear example of “treacherous actions”, whom she accused of trying to harm her own country.
“Salome Zourabichvili attended this session, and this is yet another clear example of the treacherous actions of the former and disgraceful president, who is trying to harm her own homeland - if we even call Georgia her homeland”, Bitadze concluded.
