Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili commented on the recent meeting between Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which took place on the sidelines of the 8th European Political Community Summit.
Botchorishvili said that Ukraine’s increasing diplomatic activity should be viewed in a broader regional context, emphasising Georgia’s role in regional connectivity and the shared needs of neighbouring states.
“The context in which the Ukrainian side is becoming more active involves Georgia's role in terms of connectivity and the specific needs that states in our broader neighborhood possess”, the minister noted.
According to her, many states today require relations with Georgia and through Georgia, which is natural, and it is not excluded that the Ukrainian side faces these same needs.
In the minister's assessment, it is easily explained why Ukraine needs to normalise relations with Georgia today.
