Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said that the opposition was in a “difficult situation” and argued that its actions were ultimately contributing to the further strengthening of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze claimed the opposition was being directed from abroad and was acting according to external instructions.
“As for the opposition, the opposition is in a difficult situation. The reasons for this are various - first of all, their past, their present, and most importantly, the fact that they are managed from outside. Accordingly, they do what they are instructed to do, including things that are not even subjectively in their own interests”, he said.
“That is why sometimes they unite and sometimes they split. Through all of this, they are helping to further strengthen us. This is the overall picture, so they are free to continue in this way”, Kobakhidze concluded.
