Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was conducted in a “friendly spirit” by both sides and was largely focused on the future, despite ongoing issues remaining unresolved.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that he could not disclose details of the talks, as the meeting was held behind closed doors.
“The only thing I can tell you is that our conversation was essentially focused on the future. That is all I can say. The spirit and mood of the conversation expressed from both sides was friendly”, he said.
“What problems we discussed and what we did not discuss - I cannot speak about details, because the meeting was closed and therefore its content cannot be made public”, the PM continued.
Kobakhidze noted that the issues between the two sides “have not gone anywhere”, referring to previous statements by Ukrainian officials and diplomatic steps taken by Kyiv.
“Of course, the problems that exist still remain in force, but we must be future-oriented, and that is our spirit”, he concluded.
